Green Platform

There are several political platforms associated with the Green Party movement. To understand the Green Party values and political vision, it is important to start with the correct version of the platform adopted by the relevant party organization or candidate.

This is the platform adopted at the National Green Party Convention (organized by the Association of State Green Parties, aka ASGP) and is the one officially accepted by Ralph Nader and Winona LaDuke, the current Green Party presidential and vice-presidential candidates. Important: There has been some confusion in the media about which is the national platform -- The platform from the organization known as the Green Party USA (GPUSA) is NOT the same platform adopted by the National Convention and is not endorsed by Nader or LaDuke.

This is the platform adopted by the General Assembly of the Green Party of California. The General Assembly is comprised of delegates from each active County Green Party organization. Note: This web version is missing a couple of recently adopted planks. A summary version will be available online in late September 2000. A local copy of the long version is also available.

The Green Party of San Diego County has not adopted a local platform. The state and national platforms are used where appropriate.
