Green County Council

Green County Council

The executive body of the GPSD is the County Council which consists of a number of elected and appointed members representing the diverse constituencies participating in local Green activities.

There are three types of County Council members: elected at-large representatives, Local representatives, and General Membership representatives.

Elected at-large representatives are elected by the registered Green voters through the countywide primary elections held every even year. The term of office is two years. There are seven at-large seats on the Council.

Local representatives are elected by the members of the Green Locals and Clubs recognized by the GPSD. The term of office is one year (or until November 30th, which comes first). There is one seat on the Council for each recognized Local or Club.

General Membership representatives are elected by the General Membership. The term of office is one year (or until November 30th, which comes first). There are ten General Membership seats on the Council.
